TEACHING AND LEARNING
UTeM provides various sophisticated facilities such as lecture halls, hi-tech laboratories such as Robotic & Automation Lab, High Voltage Lab, Thermodynamics & Technology Lab, Instrumentation lab, Multimedia lab, Smart lab, Language lab, Chemistry Lab and state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Centre.
CHANCELLERY BUILDING
The ‘signature building’ of UTeM, houses the main administration of the university which are Chancellery, Registrar, Bursary and Students and Alumni Affairs (HEPA). The building adopted traditional Malay courtyard house with the touch of modern design and hi-tech materials such as glass and aluminium cladding.
MOSQUE
The mosque can accommodate up to 4,000 people at one time. With the area of 5,737 m2, the mosque is equipped with administration room, reading room, and main prayer hall. The mosque adopted Middle East style interior design with Asian touch on the exterior.
LAMAN HIKMAH LIBRARY
Laman Hikmah Library had a total collection of more than 115,000 titles including 13 subscribed database titles which includes engineering materials related to the core areas of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering , Engineering Technology, Information & Communication Technology and Technology Management &Technopreneurship. In addition, there are also collections of other scientific fields such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, as well as general readings.
In order to suit with user needs, library provided services such as Online Renewal,Inter Library Loan, User Education Programme, Library Exhibition, User Advisory Desk, Order n Collect and many more. To support research activities, we also provided Information Packaging and Research Appointment services in line to serve the University. Other than services, we have many facilities such as discussion rooms, viewing rooms, carrel rooms, iPad, hoverboard and etc. We also offered room and area for rental to University and public.
We also concerned with Millennials and Y Generations by our new concept which are more leisure, interactive and conducive for user to optimal use of the library as a meeting place and as a second home. In future, Laman Hikmah Library will become a pioneer among academic Library which open 24 hours to user at Level 1.
UTeM CANSELOR HALL
The Grand Hall as its name suggest, can accommodate up to 4,000 people at a time. The Grand Hall is used for convocation ceremony, university official ceremony and also served as an examination hall. Its two storey building comprises of the lobby, main hall, dining hall and VVIP room. The Grand Hall created an unforgettable memory when former Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir and wife received their honorary doctorate during the 5th Convocation Ceremony in 2009.
SPORTS COMPLEX
The UTeM Sports Complex consists of a stadium that provides football field facilities with seating to provide comfort to 500 spectators and able to operate at night. The stadium is capable of organizing various events as well as places for sports events. The synthetic tracks built on international standards by having 400 meters of 8 meters can host various tournaments accredited by the Malaysian Sport and IAAF Unions.
The Sports Hall houses badminton courts, netball courts, basketball courts, sepaktakraw courts and gyms. Also included are outdoor facilities such as rugby halls, soccer fields, synthetic hockey fields, softball fields, archery targets, petanque courts, tennis courts, sepak takraw courts, volleyball courts, futsal courts, handball courts, basketball courts, netball rink, artificial wall, "flying fox" and kayaking facilities.
The latest sports facilities are an outdoor gymnasium which houses 14 sports equipment for students and staff.
CYBER HALL @ KNOWLEDGE AND COMMUNICATION SERVICES CENTRE
Located at the Knowledge and Communication Services Centre, students will get fast and secured internet connection in a conducive environment. The Cyber Hall provide up to 120 PCs with two training rooms with 40 PCs each. Additional services like printing and specialized PC for graphics and multimedia are also provided in the Cyber Hall. Open from Monday to Friday (8.00 am – 8.00 pm)..
HEALTH CENTRE
Health Centre was established on 9 June 2004 with its main objective of providing the best medical facilities for students and staff. The Health Centre also initiates healthy lifestyle and well-being through structured activities and programmes. The Health Centre is a unit under the Student Affairs Office and operates at all three campuses: the Main Campus, the City Campus and the Technology Campus.
CAFETERIA
Cafeteria in UTeM celebrates the rich and varied culinary traditions of the Malaysian cuisine by offering delicious dishes for all. There are three cafeterias in Main Campus, two which are dedicated for the students and a café for staffs. Have a casual, local dining experience as you savor roti canai, nasi lemak and sandwiches for breakfast and get the best of nasi campur during lunchtime.
STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTRE
Student Activity Centre is administered by Students and Alumni Affairs Office (HEPA) to facilitate casual and professional interactions amongst the student clubs and societies in UTeM. The three storey building supplies space that encourages student group collaborates to better support the missions and goals of the student bodies. Students and community members use the area for a wide variety of activities including cultural training, orchestra training centre and counseling centre. In addition, there are also convenience shop operated by Koperasi UTeM Berhad and a post office.
